A rolling Alberti bass gives this exercise a cheerful quality. Students are in G major hand positions, with both hands in treble clef. The numerous ledger lines in the accompaniment can be challenging for young pianists. The tempo needs to be steady throughout, and students should be aware of the legato articulation markings in the melody. Some of the figurations in the right hand can be a bit challenging for students and may need special attention.
