This is a great piece for increasing one’s agility at the keyboard. Both hands alternate between playing solid chords and rapid sixteenth-note passages. The accompaniment needs to remain subdued so that the melody is never covered up. Students may have difficulty with the frequent leaps in hand position. Another difficulty lies in bringing out the frequent dynamic changes. Pianists should also be aware of the detailed articulation and accent markings.
