With this wandering melancholy melody, this piece is a wonderful way to help your students develop sensitive Baroque playing. The long lines must have direction to be played well, and need to be appropriately balanced with the chordal left hand. Sequence plays a small role in this piece, and the independence of line is emphasized by the hands coming in with an offset repeated melody.
