This dance in a lively triple should be played at a low allegro to preserve its lilting nature. The fast-moving melody line should be practiced with careful fingering to prevent tie-ups. Melodic ideas are repeated; however, the left-hand accompaniment changes in articulation and rhythm between repeats. It would be easy to overpower the melody with left-hand accompaniment that is too loud. Pedaling is important to this piece; students should be sure to clear the pedal frequently to prevent blurring of chords. This piece is from the collection "Miniatures", Neil A. Kjos Music Company
