The "Gigue a l'angloise" is in the key of G major. It showcases typical Baroque-style counterpuntal ideas. In this case two lines alternate in complexity. While the left hand plays eighth notes, the right hand plays dotted quarters, and vica versa. It is suggested that the student alternates the dynamics between forte and piano in order to create a contrast between the repeated melodies, which is a characteristic of many baroque pieces.
The "Angloise" is an English Country Dance.
