This piece provides a much different texture than most students are probably used to. It is a great way to experiment with different kinds of musical phrases, and to learn the lilt and metric accents of different time signatures. As they learn to make a climax out of the never-changing texture, help them think about how this might have been played on the organ with different manuals.
