Yoshinao Nakada, The Song of Twilight

Iowa Hawkeyes.jpg

Full of repose and peaceful wonderment, “The Song of Twilight” aptly captures the atmosphere of an evening’s close. Students may have a challenge keeping the tempo steady because of the frequent change between sixteenth and quarter notes in the melody. Practicing the hands alone will help to successfully keep an accurate pulse. The three sharps in the key signature and the frequent hand position changes can make this piece a bit difficult.
